Wraith (Ghost)

"Light is my medium. But sometimes light is the subject too. In "Ghost" the marriage is complete. I can create "things" in fields of light and fields of light that have pulse or dance or structure, but in this piece the void is the crux. The subject is invisible, or suggested, barely there. As a wraith is a shadow of the thing it once was, "Ghost" is both a thing and non-thing. It is a recognition of thought as a visible entity. There is nothing to see here but the nothingness that you see. HA. Now sneak on out...

In truth, this is one of my favorite new pieces. The sense of space bending is profound. The frame tends to confirm the linearity and confound one's perception concurrently. I almost like this panel on the floor leaning against the wall even more than hanging on the wall. Light sculpture, yes indeed. "
